Our main duties are to procure every kind of materials and services required by Operation Units of our Company from domestic and foreign sources in due time and most economical way, such as,

• Iron ore, pellet, coking coal,

• Fuel oil, refractory materials, lube oil, paint, etc.,

• Ferro alloys, limestone, dolomite, quartzite, etc.,

• Steel scrap, machinery and its spare parts, fixed assets and operating consumables etc.,

and also transportation, transshipment, customs and wharfage, stock control, taking deliveries, to warehouse and accruement of the above mentioned materials, selling  the redundant and out of use materials.

The duties above are performed by the Organization pertaining to Vice Presidency of Procurement according to our regulations.

Purchasing Method

Our requirements are supplied preferably from the sources (producers), registered to our repertoire. Some materials and equipment, which has to be tested for adequacy and performance under the operating conditions, are used in a systematical way by our operating units. After approval of the quality of the materials and equipment, procurement of these materials is performed by taking bids from the suppliers.

Suppliers are invited to bids by sending the technical specifications. Suppliers have to give the detailed technical specifications of their offer

Physical and chemical analyses of the supplied material are carried out by İsdemir’s own laboratories. Final acceptance is done after approval of the quality of the material.
